The Guruvayur temple is one of the most prominent Hindu temples that is located in Kerala. The people of Kerala are familiar with the Guruvayur temple and its supreme deity Guruvayurappan.

The temple played a key role in the development of Kathakali, which is a typical dance form with drama. The temple has a special area called koothuparamab for performing such art forms.

Apart from Kathakali the temple also conducts the artforms such as Ottanthullan, chakyarkuthu, classical dances, and music.  All these performances are dedicated to lord Krishna and explain the stories of lord Krishna through different art forms.


The other major attraction of the temple is its unique carvings which are carved on the walls of the temple and it explains the relation of the temple with the Kerala art and the craftmanship.
