These temples are also considered the most prominent Krishna temples of south India. Some of the most important Krishna temples of Kerala are:
Ambalappuzha Sri Krishna Swamy temple: it is one of the most popular Krishna temples in Kerala. It is located in the ambalappuzha region of Alappuzha district of Kerala.
The temple is mainly dedicated to Parthasarathy, an incarnation of lord Krishna as Arjuna’s charioter.
The temple is considered one of the seven Vaishnava temples in Kerala and the temple is also world famous for its paalpayasam( mixture of sweet milk with rice), a special offering of this temple.
Thiruvambady Sree Krishna temple: it is located about 27 km away from the Guruvayur temple and the supreme deity is Unnikrishna, the childhood form of lord Krishna. the temple is famous for its participation in the biggest festival known as thrissurpooram.
Aranmula Parthasarathy temple is the other major Krishna temple which is located in the aranmula town of the Pathanamthitta district of Kerala. The temple is dedicated to lord Parthasarathy, an incarnation of lord Krishna as Arjuna’s charioter.
Neyyantinkara sree krishna swamy temple: the temple is located in neyyatinakara region of the Thiruvananthapuram district of kerala and it is primarily dedicated to the lord unnickrishna, the childhood form of lord krishna.
